This verse speaks of the peace with God that the nation Israel would enjoy when they repented of their sins and turned back to God. Then the Holy Spirit would be poured down upon them from Heaven. In a much broader sense, it speaks of the reconciliation and peace with God available to all people, Jews and Gentiles alike, that they can enjoy by turning to God and believing in the promised savior that God sent, His only begotten Son, Jesus. By His death on the cross he took the penalty for our sins, provided forgiveness, and destroyed the death grip that sin and Satan had on each of us - which kept us from having a true relationship and fellowship with God.
When we believe on and receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord, we are forgiven our sins and reconciled to God. God then pours down
